Our position. Calibrations are sold for off-road, competition, or otherwise legally permitted use only. You are responsible for complying with all emissions and vehicle regulations that apply where the vehicle or equipment is operated.
What this means for you
Emissions rules apply to most diesel vehicles and engines. In the United States, federal law (the Clean Air Act) and many state laws restrict modifying or disabling emissions controls on road vehicles and on many off-highway engines, and California has additional rules. Other countries have their own regulations. We are not lawyers and cannot give legal advice. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules that apply where you operate.
Off-road and competition use
Whether a vehicle or machine qualifies as “off-road” or “competition” is a legal question, not a label you can choose. A vehicle that was certified for road use and is driven on public roads is generally still subject to road-vehicle rules. If you are unsure, ask the relevant authority or a qualified professional before you install a calibration.
How we handle orders
- The order form asks what emissions equipment is on the engine and how the vehicle is used, so the calibration matches the hardware and its intended use.
- You confirm the legal-use statement before submitting an order.
- We may ask follow-up questions and we may decline any order.
Your responsibilities
- Use calibrations only where and how the law permits.
- Check how a calibration affects inspections, registration and warranty before installing it.
- Keep your original (stock) file so a vehicle can be returned to its original calibration.
